Endless list of problems

This past Saturday evening, I was given the news of my uncle’s death. He was suffering from MS.

My production is more or less finished now, so it’s not going to affect me too much. But it’s just goes to show sometimes how external problems can affect your work. Even if you’re well prepared on a production, you can’t really prepare yourself for some things.

A friend of mine recently told me how he thinks my production reminds him of LOST IN LA MANCHA. It’s about a film production, where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.

    Hi Ranjeet

In terms of the rough cut here are my thoughts:

    1. Strong subject
    2. Need to slow it down, far too much information to take in.
    3. Try to pick a few of the images and make a personal response, that can complement/support/debate the main interviewee.

Try to see ‘Letter To Jane’ by Godard not to mimic it but as a way to negotiate a small amount of visual material. Letting the audience know what the images mean and why we have/have not seen them , as well as the difficulties you encountered in making the piece, is less a ‘making of’ and more an authored approach which may work well in this case.

Thinks about it and email/Skype me if you want to go into this more.

      Hi Ken

hope you are keeping well. Me and Gary had popped by your office on the 1st Floor, but you weren’t in…

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. I’ll try and get a hold of the film, and get a better understanding. I’ll think about it and let you know.

      Many thanks
